The Commodities, Export Marketing Authority, CEMA salutes all cocoa farmers and supporters of the industry on the occasion of International Cocoa day on October 12.

The Commodities, Export Marketing Authority, CEMA salutes all cocoa farmers and supporters of the industry on the occasion of International Cocoa day on October 12.

CEMA says it acknowledges the important contribution of cocoa growers and traders to the economy which resulted in a steady increase of export earnings over the years.

Up to September this year, the export value of cocoa was 58-million dollars , an increase of more than 10-million dollars recorded for the whole of last year.

Of the amount, farmers returns are estimated at more than 40-million dollars and increase of more than five-million from last year.

CEMA urges all cocoa growers in the country to continue to produce high quality cocoa and maintain or expand their plantations.
