The Guadalcanal Provincial Government condemns the recent burning of homes at Ruaniu, Northwest Guadalcanal.
In a statement, Premier Stephen Panga says such act is criminal and uncalled for.
He says anyone responsible should face the full force of the law.
Mr Panga says the provincial government appeals to the Police to investigate the matter and bring to justice anyone involved in the criminal activity.
But in condemning what had happened Mr Panga says his government re-iterates its earlier call for people not to re-occupy abandoned lands around Guadalcanal until the Commission of Inquiry into Guadalcanal lands is established and decide on those lands.
Mr Panga says his government also calls on landowners not to allow or entertain any reoccupation of abandoned land by anyone including themselves until the Commission of Inquiry is completed.
He says this measure is to avoid any rows arising from the reoccupation of abandoned lands in light of our current efforts to build peace and harmony.
Meanwhile, Mr Panga says his government dismisses reports that Guadalcanal Province is preparing to start another social unrest.
He says such reports is unfounded considering the current efforts of the Guadalcanal Province and people to commit themselves to peace building, reconciliation, social harmony and unity.
